The bill establishes the dependent of a disabled veteran tuition grant program within the college student aid commission. It provides tuition grants to eligible institutions to help students afford tuition and mandatory fees. A full-time eligible student may receive a grant annually for up to eight semesters or until they earn a degree, whichever occurs first. A part-time eligible student may receive a grant for up to 12 semesters on a prorated basis or until they earn a degree. The commission awards grants on a first-come, first-served basis.
