Iowa SF304 modifies the legal capacity of minors to consent to medical care for sexually transmitted diseases or infections. Effective July 1, 2026, the bill allows minors to consent to medical care or services for the prevention, diagnosis, or treatment of sexually transmitted diseases or infections, except for vaccinations. This care must be provided by or under the supervision of a licensed physician, physician assistant, or advanced registered nurse practitioner. The consent of a spouse, parent, custodian, or guardian is not necessary.
