Iowa SF2456 allows rounding of cash transaction amounts to the nearest five cents.

Iowa SF2456 establishes rules for rounding cash transaction amounts in the state. For transactions ending in one, two, six, or seven cents, sellers may round down to the nearest five cents. For transactions ending in three, four, eight, or nine cents, sellers may round up to the nearest five cents. Transactions totaling one or two cents must be rounded up to five cents. This rounding does not apply to transactions made with instruments like checks, gift cards, or credit cards.
