Iowa SF2309 allows cities to regulate short-term rental properties.
Iowa SF2309 removes restrictions on cities regulating short-term rental properties. Currently, cities cannot enforce regulations, restrictions, or ordinances on short-term rentals, nor can they require a license or permit fee. This bill eliminates those prohibitions, allowing cities to adopt their own regulations for short-term rentals. The bill does not affect similar prohibitions on counties.
