Changes per diem payment duration for Iowa general assembly members.

This bill modifies the duration for which members of the Iowa general assembly receive per diem payments. It reduces the period for the first regular session from 110 to 55 calendar days and for the second regular session from 100 to 50 calendar days. Members from Polk county will receive three-fourths of the per diem of non-Polk county members. Each member will also receive a $300 monthly allowance for legislative district expenses. Travel expenses are to be paid at the rate established by section 8A.363 for actual travel to and from the seat of government.
