Civil actions against school board members and superintendents for policies violating state law.
This bill allows individuals to notify county attorneys of school board policies they believe violate state law. County attorneys can then bring civil actions against board members who voted for the policy and the superintendent. If the county attorney prevails, the court must grant injunctive relief and award attorney fees. The award must be at least $1,000 per defendant or the actual costs incurred, whichever is greater, and is to be deposited in the county's general fund.
