Establishes a scholarship program for Iowa residents with intellectual, developmental, or learning disabilities.
The bill establishes a scholarship program for individuals with intellectual, developmental, or learning disabilities who are at least 18 years old and enrolled in a comprehensive transition and postsecondary program approved by the U.S. Department of Education. The scholarships, up to $5,000, aim to offset tuition and fees. The college student aid commission, in consultation with the division of vocational rehabilitation services, will develop evaluation criteria and administer the program. Priority is given to Iowa residents. The program is funded by appropriations from the general assembly.
