Iowa HJR2009 proposes an amendment to the Constitution of the State of Iowa to limit the total years of service for persons elected or appointed to the offices of state representative, state senator, governor, lieutenant governor, secretary of state, secretary of agriculture, auditor of state, treasurer of state, or attorney general. The amendment would prohibit a person from being elected or appointed to any of these offices if they will have served a total of 24 years in any combination of these offices prior to the commencement of the term.
