Iowa HF813 regulates private pay per diem rates at nursing facilities, limiting increases and requiring compliance with new rules.
Iowa HF813 establishes rules for private pay per diem rates at nursing facilities. It defines "per diem rate" as the daily charge for private pay individuals. The bill prohibits facilities from increasing rates by more than the percentage change in the consumer price index for all urban consumers for the last available 12-month period. Facilities cannot increase rates within 12 months of establishing them or more than once in any consecutive 12-month period. Non-compliant facilities are ineligible to renew their licenses.
