This bill creates a licensed sedation provider host permit for dentists. Dentists can apply for this permit if they complete a board-approved course, meet facility and equipment requirements, receive advanced cardiovascular life support certification, and submit a board-prescribed application. Dentists with this permit can employ licensed sedation providers to administer moderate sedation to patients aged 13 and older during dental procedures and monitor these patients. The board reviews and approves courses annually, and may require course directors to participate in an interview.
