Extends the period before an OWI driver’s license revocation begins from 10 to 20 days.

This bill amends the effective date of driver’s license revocation following an operating-while-intoxicated violation or refusal to test. Currently, the revocation begins 10 days after notice is mailed or served. The bill extends this period to 20 days. If a peace officer serves immediate notice, they must issue a temporary license valid for 20 days. The bill does not change the 10-day periods for requesting a hearing or challenging the decision.
