Iowa HF432 amends Section 84E.4, subsection 1, paragraph a, Code 2025, to allow apprenticeship sponsors or lead apprenticeship sponsors to apply for financial assistance from the Department of Workforce Development. This applies to apprenticeship programs registered with the U.S. Department of Labor, Office of Apprenticeship, through Iowa. The bill reduces the required contact hours for the first training year to 75 hours and maintains 100 hours for subsequent full training years. Previously, the requirement was 100 contact hours per apprentice for each training year.
