Iowa HF354 prohibits former lobbyists from becoming executive or administrative heads of licensing boards for two years.
Iowa HF354 amends the Code to prohibit individuals who were lobbyists from serving as executive or administrative heads of licensing boards for two years after they stop lobbying. It also prohibits current or future heads of licensing boards from lobbying for two years after their service or employment ends. Violators face a serious misdemeanor penalty, which includes up to one year in confinement and a fine of $430 to $2,560. The bill does not affect an executive or administrative head lobbying as the board’s executive director.
