This bill allows county recorders to charge a convenience fee for recording applications for snowmobile, all-terrain vehicle, or vessel registration for individuals who are not residents of the county. The fee cannot exceed $10. The bill also specifies that nonresidents must pay property tax to the county and provide proof of payment to avoid the convenience fee. The collected fees are to be deposited into the county recorder’s records management fund.
