Iowa HF2542 amends the state's habitual offender laws by defining "level one offense" as class "A", "B", "C", and "D" felonies, and aggravated misdemeanors involving sexual abuse, domestic abuse assault, assault with intent to inflict serious injury, organized retail theft, theft, and possession of a controlled substance. Each level one offense conviction is worth one point.
