Expands eligibility for Iowa's statewide preschool program to include five-year-olds.

This bill modifies Iowa's statewide preschool program to expand eligibility to include five-year-old children who reach the age of five on or after March 15 but on or before September 15 of the school year. The program, established to provide an opportunity for all young children in the state to enter school ready to learn, will now also serve eligible five-year-olds. The bill also adjusts state funding provisions and compulsory attendance rules to reflect these changes. The new provisions apply to school budget years beginning on or after July 1, 2027.
