Iowa HF2428 amends the authorized uses of a township fire protection levy to include constructing a fire station. Currently, township trustees can use the levy to purchase or replace supplies and equipment for fire protection and emergency services. This bill allows the reserved moneys to also be used for constructing a fire station. The bill specifies that interest earned on moneys credited to the reserve account will be credited to the reserve account.
