Iowa HF24 prohibits public contact with dangerous wild animals and defines penalties for violations.
Iowa HF24 amends existing law to prohibit any member of the public from coming in direct contact with dangerous wild animals. Direct contact is defined as physical contact or proximity where physical contact is possible, including any proximity without a permanent barrier. The bill also expands the definition of "dangerous wild animal" to include sharks that can grow to more than 23 inches in length or have a documented history of biting humans.
