Iowa HF2350 suspends driver's licenses without prior notice if a person is deemed physically or mentally incapable of safely operating a motor.
Iowa HF2350 amends the state's driver's license suspension process. The Department of Transportation (DOT) can suspend a driver's license without prior notice if it determines, based on its records or other evidence, that the person is physically or mentally incapable of safely operating a motor vehicle. The DOT must notify the person of the suspension by personal delivery, personal service, or first-class mail. A peace officer may also serve immediate notice, in which case the officer must take the person's license and send it to the DOT.
