Iowa HF209 establishes a rural attorney recruitment assistance program to assist counties and municipalities with populations under 26,000 and located more than 20 miles from a city with at least 50,000 people. The college student aid commission will conduct assessments to determine eligibility. Eligible counties and municipalities can apply to participate. Selected attorneys receive incentive payments in five equal annual installments, with the commission paying 65% and the county or municipality paying 35%.
