Indiana SB0274 allows the owner of real property to petition for disannexation if the property meets specific criteria. The property must consist of at least 30 acres and no more than four parcels, originally included in the town's corporate limits. The property must also be contiguous to an unincorporated area or another municipality. The disannexation becomes effective upon filing a petition with the county auditor and recording it with the county recorder. The property owner must then petition for annexation to another municipality within 48 months.
