Indiana SB0207 adds a new section to the Indiana Code, effective July 1, 2026, that prohibits the manufacture, sale, possession, operation, or use of motor vehicle key programming devices, also known as key fob emulators. This prohibition does not apply to law enforcement officers acting within their duties, authorized motor vehicle dealers, distributors, manufacturers, locksmiths, or those under contract for sale to these entities. Violators face a Class A misdemeanor charge for unlawful use of a motor vehicle key programming device.
