Indiana SB0087 amends the Indiana Code to require public contracts for services related to public works projects to include provisions mandating contractors and subcontractors to verify the work eligibility of all employees through the E-Verify program. Contractors must provide the E-Verify case verification number for each employee before they begin work on the project. The bill also prohibits contractors who knowingly or intentionally fail to comply from working on public works projects for a period of twelve months. Effective July 1, 2026.
