Indiana SB0078 requires school corporations and charter schools to adopt and implement wireless communication device policies. These policies must prohibit students from using or possessing such devices during the school day, except for teacher-directed educational use, emergencies, health care management, language translation, or as specified in an individualized education program or Section 504 plan. Policies must mandate either a no device or secure storage policy. The Department of Education must publish model policy language and implementation guidance. Effective July 1, 2026.
