The Indiana House of Representatives celebrates the 70th anniversary of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., South Bend Chapter, founded on January 13, 1913, at Howard University. The South Bend Alumnae Chapter, initially chartered as Epsilon Mu Sigma, was established on December 3, 1955, by nine women from the Sorors Club. Over the years, the chapter has significantly impacted the Michiana community through scholarship funds, symposiums on addiction, Black maternal and infant health, and breast cancer, and hosting health fairs.
