Indiana HB1384 establishes a public defender benefits program, allowing certain attorneys to join the state employee health plan.

Indiana HB1384 amends the state code to establish a public defender benefits program. It allows attorneys who perform court-appointed legal services on a full-time or full-time equivalent basis and are not employed by the state or a local unit to join the state employee health plan. The cost of coverage is shared between the Indiana commission on court-appointed attorneys and the eligible attorney.
