Indiana HB1272 amends the Indiana Code to establish licensing requirements for collateral recovery agencies. The bill renames the private investigator and security guard licensing board as the private investigator, security guard, and collateral recovery agency licensing board, and adds two additional members to the board. It requires a person to be licensed as a collateral recovery agency to repossess collateral in Indiana. The bill sets forth requirements for applicants seeking licensure, including providing personal and business information, criminal history, and proof of insurance.
