Indiana HB1212 amends the state's criminal code to provide for a penalty enhancement for aggravated speeding committed in the commission of certain offenses. Aggravated speeding is defined as operating a motor vehicle in excess of 100 miles per hour or 30 miles per hour greater than the maximum posted speed limit. If the state can prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the person knowingly or intentionally committed aggravated speeding in the commission of a felony, the court may sentence the person to an additional fixed term of imprisonment of not more than five years.
