Indiana HB1174 mandates counties to establish and maintain a Project Lifesaver program by January 1, 2027.

Indiana HB1174 requires each county to establish and maintain a Project Lifesaver program, a community-based, public safety, nonprofit organization that helps locate individuals with cognitive disorders prone to wandering. The Division of Disability and Rehabilitative Services must ensure county compliance and report to the General Assembly by March 1, 2027. Effective July 1, 2026.
