Indiana HB1072 mandates law enforcement officers to administer a domestic violence risk assessment when responding to incidents.

Indiana HB1072 amends the Indiana Code to require law enforcement officers to administer a domestic violence risk assessment when responding to incidents or when they have probable cause to believe such incidents have occurred. The assessment tool specified is the Danger Assessment for Law Enforcement (DA-LE). This requirement takes effect on July 1, 2025.
