Introduced·1/8/25
Intr Text

Indiana HB1045 amends teacher compensation requirements for school corporations.

Indiana HB1045 modifies the definition of "teacher" to include school social workers and school psychologists for purposes of teacher compensation. It mandates that school corporations must expend at least 62% of state tuition support on teacher compensation, including costs for adjunct teachers, supplemental pay, and dropout recovery services. If a school corporation cannot meet this requirement, it can apply for a waiver, but may receive no more than three waivers.
