Indiana HB1030 modifies electrologist licensing requirements and allows electrology services in esthetics rooms.

Indiana HB1030 removes the requirement for an applicant for an electrologist license to hold a cosmetologist or esthetician license. It mandates that applicants complete 600 hours of education and experience in electrology training. The bill also allows electrology services to be performed in the same room as esthetics services, though not simultaneously. The state board of cosmetology and barber examiners must amend relevant rules by June 30, 2027. Effective July 1, 2026, and July 1, 2027.
