Illinois SR0729 encourages awarding academic credit for career readiness assessments to CTE concentrators.

Illinois SR0729 encourages the Illinois Community College Board to develop policies for awarding academic credit for career readiness assessments to students in CTE programs. It urges the Illinois State Board of Education to provide access to ACT WorkKeys assessments at no cost to students in grade 12 who are CTE concentrators. The resolution also encourages the collection and reporting of statewide data on student access to assessments and credential attainment outcomes. Participation in these assessments is voluntary, and no student is required to participate.
