He began his journalism career at the Jacksonville Journal-Courier and later became a co-host of the Sportsline call-in show on WLDS radio for 56 years. Green also taught at Triopia Junior High School and Routt High School. He was a member of several sports halls of fame and a long-time baseball and softball player, manager, coach, and umpire.
