Illinois Senate Resolution 529 congratulates Citizens for Conservation (CFC) on its 55th anniversary. CFC, founded in 1971, is a volunteer-powered nonprofit dedicated to protecting vital habitats and restoring native ecosystems. Over the years, CFC has protected 732 acres of prairie, wetland, and woodland habitats, collected nearly 10,000 pounds of native seed, and reintroduced over 300 native plant species. The organization has also inspired future conservation leaders through education programs and placed over 500,000 native plants into community hands.
