The Illinois Senate congratulates Oswaldo "Ozzie" Guillén Barrios on his career as a former Major League Baseball player, manager, and sports broadcaster. Guillén, born in Venezuela, played as a shortstop for the Chicago White Sox, winning the American League Rookie of the Year award and a Gold Glove. He managed the White Sox to their first World Series victory in 88 years in 2005.
