Illinois SB4196 amends the Illinois TRUST Act to restrict state law enforcement agencies and officials from participating in federal civil immigration enforcement. This includes prohibiting the denial of services, benefits, or opportunities to individuals in custody or under probation based on their immigration status. Law enforcement agencies and officials are barred from inquiring about or investigating an individual's citizenship or immigration status unless presented with a valid, enforceable federal warrant.
