Illinois SB4071 allows municipalities to permit accessory dwelling units without additional zoning requirements.
Illinois SB4071 amends the Illinois Municipal Code to allow municipalities to permit accessory dwelling units in all zoning districts that permit single-family dwellings. The bill prohibits municipalities from imposing additional requirements for lot size, setbacks, aesthetic requirements, design review, frontage, space limitations, or other controls beyond those required for single-family dwelling units without an accessory dwelling unit.
