TWP CD-AUDIT

Introduced·2/6/26
Introduced Text

SB4037 amends the Township Code to require additional audits in townships with certain revenue levels.

SB4037 amends the Township Code to enhance audit requirements for townships. In townships that receive less than $850,000 in revenue, an independent auditing committee must audit accounts and records within six months after the end of each term of office of the township supervisor and after a vacancy occurs in that office. For townships with revenue of $850,000 or more, a certified public accountant must audit accounts and records within six months after the close of each fiscal year. The audit reports must be filed with the township clerk and the county clerk for public inspection.
