Illinois SB3988 mandates drug screening for all offenders committed to a Department facility and allows for drug treatment services based on.

Illinois SB3988 amends the Unified Code of Corrections to require the Department of Corrections to conduct drug screening for every offender committed to a Department facility. The bill also authorizes the Department to provide appropriate drug treatment services to certain offenders, contingent on the results of the initial screening. The Department is required to adopt rules to implement this new provision.
