The Adult Content Age Verification Act requires commercial entities to implement reasonable age verification methods for websites containing substantial harmful content to minors. Failure to do so subjects the entity to civil penalties. The Attorney General can investigate violations and seek injunctions and penalties, which are deposited into the Cyber Exploitation of Children Fund. Exceptions include news-gathering organizations and bona fide news or public interest broadcasts.
