SB3914

SB3914 amends the State Employees Group Insurance Act to redefine "community college benefit recipient" and modifies eligibility for group insurance.

SB3914 amends the State Employees Group Insurance Act of 1971 by redefining "community college benefit recipient" to include those receiving retirement income from a self-managed plan account under the State Universities Article of the Illinois Pension Code. It modifies eligibility for group insurance benefits for survivors, ensuring that survivors who first became eligible on or after January 1, 2022, are covered regardless of the deceased employee's minimum vesting requirements, with a 100% State contribution rate until certain conditions are met.
