SB3909

SB3909 amends the Illinois Procurement Code to establish requirements for bidders, offerors, and contractors involved in the procurement of firearms.

SB3909 introduces new provisions under the Illinois Procurement Code, specifically Article 43, which focuses on firearms and ammunition procurement. The bill mandates that state agencies review and score information from bidders, offerors, and contractors as part of the bidding and award process. It requires these entities to provide documentation on compliance with firearm laws, including screening for straw purchasers, detecting theft or loss of firearms, and maintaining records of trace requests from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.
