Illinois SB3877 amends the Employment of Teachers Article of the School Code to permit school districts, special education cooperatives, and other public educational employers to recognize graduate-level continuing education coursework for salary advancement or lane changes, beginning July 1, 2026. The coursework must be offered by a regionally accredited institution of higher education, documented on an official academic transcript, and result in a letter grade.
