SB3765, known as the Short Line Railroad Modernization Act, establishes a tax credit for taxpayers who invest in qualified railroad expenditures or new rail infrastructure in Illinois. Eligible expenditures include maintenance, reconstruction, or replacement of existing railroad infrastructure and new track infrastructure for rail-served customer locations.
