Illinois SB3720 amends the Student Transfer Achievement Reform Act to facilitate the reverse transfer of credits from state universities to community colleges for students seeking associate degrees. Beginning with the 2026-2027 academic year, state universities must notify transfer students with at least 30 hours of community college credit about the option to reverse transfer those credits. The Board of Higher Education and the Illinois Community College Board will develop policies to support this process.
