SB3713

SB3713 amends the Probate Act of 1975 to clarify the rights of individuals under guardianship regarding marriage.

SB3713 amends the Probate Act of 1975 to ensure that individuals under guardianship who understand the nature, effect, duties, and obligations of marriage retain the right to marry without prior consent from their guardian or court authorization, except in specific circumstances. The bill allows courts to remove the right to marry if the individual lacks the capacity to understand the implications of marriage, and it outlines conditions under which individuals from whom the right to marry has been removed may still marry.
