The Clean Transportation Standard Act establishes a clean transportation standard to reduce life cycle carbon intensity of fuels for the ground transportation sector. The standard takes the form of a credit marketplace monitored by the Agency. The Act provides for related rulemaking and calculations. The Act also includes provisions for verification and data privacy requirements, penalties for failing to offset deficits, and exemptions for certain fuels. The Act is effective January 1, 2027.
