Illinois SB3626 requires school districts to notify military recruiters about career-related events and provide accommodations for recruiters.
Illinois SB3626 amends the School Code to mandate that school districts, excluding Chicago, notify the nearest military recruiter at least five days before a career-related event. This notification must include the event's time, date, and location. The requirement can be met by sending a calendar of events at the beginning of the school year. If a recruiter intends to attend an event, the school district must provide a prominent location for the recruiter at the event.
