Illinois SB3621 amends the compensation structure for various county officers. Starting December 1, 2026, the compensation for coroners, county treasurers, clerks, recorders, and auditors in counties with fewer than 2,000,000 inhabitants will be set by the county board, with minimum annual amounts specified based on population. For larger counties, the compensation will be equal to 80% of the State's Attorney's salary in the county. The State will cover 66 2/3% of the annual salary, with the county responsible for the remaining 33 1/3%.
